Table

Locals’ pick

Jacob and Alicia Sessoms opened this in 2005, back when farm-to-table here was still an argument rather than a given, and a good share of the chefs you'll eat around town came up through this kitchen. The Lexington Avenue room is small and the menu gets rewritten around whatever the farms sent — snacks, house pasta, a proper steak. Michelin put it in the first American South guide. Dinner only, so book ahead.

Daymoon Coffeebar Locals’ pick

The closest good coffee to home, and it happens to have a drive-thru. On a slow morning that combination is hard to beat. Pull up, grab your cortado, keep moving.

Neng Jr.'s Locals’ pick

This is the hardest reservation in town right now, and it earns it. The Filipino menu is bold and personal, nothing watered down for a wider crowd. Book early or plan on missing it.

Hole Doughnuts

They fry the doughnuts to order, so you're eating them warm and a little crackly at the edges. It's a small menu done exactly right. Get there before the line does.
