Privacy Policy

This policy covers what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. The short version: we use your information to run your reservation and make your stay better. We don't sell it. We don't share it with marketers.

Who We Are

Asheville Forest Baths operates four short-term rental properties in the Asheville, North Carolina area. When you book with us (directly or through a platform like Airbnb), we become the data controller for the personal information tied to your stay.

What We Collect

Reservation details. Your name, email address, phone number, check-in and check-out dates, number of guests, and any special requests you include with your booking.

Payment information. Processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles PCI compliance on our behalf.

Add-on purchases. If you book a sauna session, romance package, welcome basket, early check-in, late checkout, or pet fee through our website, we store what you purchased and when.

Communications. Messages you send us through the booking platform, email, or SMS. We keep these so we can reference your preferences and resolve any issues during your stay.

Device and access data. When you visit our website or guest portal, standard web server logs capture your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use this for troubleshooting, not tracking.

How We Use It

Everything we collect ties back to your stay. We use your information to confirm your reservation, send check-in instructions and directions, coordinate cleaning and preparation, process payments for add-ons, and communicate with you before and during your visit.

We also use aggregated, non-identifying data (occupancy trends, revenue summaries) to run our business. None of that is tied to you personally.

Text Messages (SMS)

If you book directly through our website and provide a phone number, we may send you transactional text messages. These include booking confirmations, check-in instructions, property directions, and door codes. We send a maximum of three messages per stay.

These are not marketing messages. We won't text you promotions, deals, or anything unrelated to your confirmed reservation.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. You can also text HELP for support. Standard message and data rates from your carrier apply.

Who We Share With

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't hand it to data brokers.

We do share limited information with the services that make your stay work: Stripe for payment processing, Hospitable for reservation management, Twilio for text messages, Resend for transactional emails, and Vercel for website hosting. Each of these services has its own privacy policy and processes data only as needed to provide their service.

Our cleaning team receives your first name and check-in/out times so they can prepare your property. They don't get your email, phone number, or payment details.

How Long We Keep It

We retain reservation and guest data for the life of our business. This lets us recognize returning guests, reference past preferences, and maintain accurate financial records. If you want your data deleted, email us and we'll take care of it within 30 days, subject to any legal record-keeping requirements.

Your Rights

You can ask us what data we have on you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just email Spencer@thisxlife.com and we'll handle it personally. No ticket system, no runaround.

Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies for basic functionality (keeping you logged into the guest portal, for example). We don't run third-party tracking pixels, retargeting scripts, or analytics platforms that follow you around the internet.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top. For anything significant, we'll mention it in the pre-arrival communications for active reservations.
