Things to Do

AVL Clay

A 4,300-square-foot community pottery studio in a restored 1920s riverside building near Biltmore Village, with a dozen wheels, kilns, memberships, and drop-in classes for every level. You get your hands in the clay for an afternoon and walk out with something you made. It's also a solid rainy-day plan.

Things to Do

Riverview StationTemporarily closed

A massive studio building in the River Arts District, home to dozens of working artists. Helene flooded it to the second floor and it's closed for now, with a phased reopening running through 2026. Worth a walk-through once the doors are back open.

Things to Do

The Grey Eagle Locals’ pick

Our favorite room in town for live music, small enough that every seat feels close to the stage. The lineup runs from touring acts to local favorites, and the taqueria attached is a solid bonus. Check the calendar and grab tickets early, the good shows sell out.

Things to Do

Zen Tubing

An easy, unhurried float down the French Broad, exactly the kind of lazy afternoon it sounds like. For 2026, use their South Asheville put-in. The River Arts District launch is paused for the we-26 work and river cleanup.
